"My Dad, Roy Ellis, worked for the textiles company Courtaulds, as an industrial chemist. In January 1965 he was sent to Russia for three months, to give technical advice on the setting-up of a new factory in Balakovo, a city in the Saratov Oblast, 1100 km east of Moscow. He took these photographs using a Russian-made Zenith camera. I have used the transparencies from those photographs to make these digital copies."
